ChiCap offers a jaw dropping view of the Wallowas after a relatively easy summit climb. The basin that leads up to China Cap does well to generate moisture so the snowfall really ramps up by the time you round Burger Butte in ski tour through the basin. The north side is a cliff but the other ramps off of the summit offer mostly lower angle skiing.
Access
The approach is the same as Burger Butte, with a snowmobile ride to near the Buck Creek Campground area. You may be able to get up there in a car early or late season. With some luck and good sled handling skills you can get up to the base of the Burger pyramid to make it a shorter ski in.
