Lookingglass Lake is one of the bigger lakes in the Eagle Cap Wilderness, and offers some intriguing hard rock shoreline in a nice setting, at least until they pull the plug and start draining this lake. The upside is that you have a nice waterfall a lot of the year that can be heard and seen from this trail and the Main Eagle Trail.
Culver Lake and Bear Lake are smaller, but also very scenic. Bear Lake is tucked in a quaint spot at the end of the 1929A trail and offers a view nice viewpoint just before the lake.
The trails here serve the sole purpose of delivering you to each of the 3 lakes from the Main Eagle Trail at Eagle Meadows. It is a Y configuration with the left branch taking you to Culver then Bear Lake and the right branch going on a longer trek up to Lookingglass Lake. The approach into Lookingglass Lake is particularly spectacular as it meanders through rock piles, ponds, and grassy flowered meadows.
