This sweet little trail connects the old Huckleberry Trail to the meadows behind Mt. Fanny and the 6220 road. It is mostly an unofficial trail used by hunters, but probably has a lot of history. It meanders down through the headwaters of spring fed forks of Horseshoe Basin Creek. Along the way it passes through some nice volcanic rock piles before crossing some meadows and connecting with a hunting camp at Huckleberry Trail which can be taken to Moss Springs.
From the top end you can shortcut to it from an unmarked trail on the 6220 road shortly after the breaks looking into Horseshoe Basin, if you are coming from Moss Springs. This connects you to a series of meadows where you share part of the Long Ridge Trail. It continues out the lower end of the meadow. It is well marked with blazes on trees and will work across the basin.
